Terms of Use

Last updated: August 18, 2026

These terms govern your use of the My Debt Freedom iOS app and this website. By using the App you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Purchases made through the App Store are also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

What the App is — and is not

My Debt Freedom is a planning tool. It projects payoff dates and interest from the balances, rates, and payments you enter. That is planning math only — not financial, tax, credit, or investment advice. It is not a lender, credit counselor, or bank. Confirm balances, APRs, and due dates with your lenders before you rely on a date or a payment amount.

We do not guarantee you will become debt-free, save a stated amount of interest, or qualify for any credit outcome.

Your responsibilities

Free and Freedom

You may list debts without a subscription. Freedom is an optional auto-renewable subscription that unlocks snowball and avalanche plans, payment logging, progress and awards, local due-date reminders, Found Money, and the on-device coach where Apple Intelligence is available.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. The subscription renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Unused portions of a free trial, if offered, are forfeited when you buy. We do not issue refunds directly; refund requests go through Apple.

On-device data

The App stores your numbers on the device. There is no My Debt Freedom account. Deleting the App or using Delete all data removes that local information unless a device backup restores it. See the Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the App, attempt to interfere with Apple’s purchase system, or use it for anything unlawful. The App is for personal planning.

Intellectual property

The App, name, icon, and this site are owned by Matthew Chapman. You may not copy the App or its marks except as allowed by the App Store license.

Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that projections are error-free, that reminders will fire in every system condition, or that Apple Intelligence will be available on your device. Coach replies can be wrong; treat engine numbers in the plan as the source of truth.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Matthew Chapman and My Debt Freedom are not liable for lost money, missed payments, interest you actually pay, or other damages arising from use of the App or reliance on its projections. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed, and not more than the amount you paid for Freedom in the 12 months before the claim (or zero if you did not subscribe).

Changes

We may update these terms and the App. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we revise this page.
